If you do crossword puzzles it’s good to watch Entertainment Tonight. And I like watching Dannilynn Birkhead grow up. Hearing about Anna Nicole over and over again every night was enough to make me turn off the program, unless they showed Dannilynn. Larry Birkhead seems to be doing a caring job with her, so hope we get to see her grow up to be a lovely lady.
ET, long ago, was not so taken with itself. Mary Hart was the interviewer, and not part of the entertainment news. She has trouble staying in the background with most guests. Mark Steines does a much better job of making the celeb front and center.
Who wants to know anything else about Brittany Spears? Why don’t they just leave her alone to get her life together? If ET would stop paying for the paparazzi feeds, then that would take away lots of their reason to be there.
After polling my friends, my children’s friends, and reading some comments on the internet, no one wants to see any more of
With cable, satellite, DVD, downloading, digital on demand, and the whole of the internet to play with, these days we have a massive choice of entertainment available through our TVs, PCs, and even our mobile phones!
In the past, TV shows would be aired once, and possibly repeatedly occasionally; but the growth in services such as ‘TV on demand’, has meant that hundreds of TV shows from our past and present are now available to watch, whenever we feel like it.
Childhood nostalgia is for a large part driving the desire to watch classic TV shows from our youth, and the list of favourites is long. Many vintage shows are now available for download, such as ‘Catweazle’, a series from the 70s that followed an eccentric 11th Century wizard who accidentally travelled through time to the year 1970; or the classic game show ‘Catchphrase’, hosted by Irish comedian Roy Walker whereby contestants had to identify a familiar phrase which would be represented by a large screen animation, often involving the show’s
Whether it’s the latest album reviews or news about the big budget films that are about to hit the cinemas, the landscape of entertainment news throughout the industry changed irrevocably in the advent of the 21st century. Though the initial foundations for the massive shift were originally put in place from the mid to latter 1990s, the full effects of the shift have only started to hit fully throughout the 2000s. Now, in the teens of a whole new millennium the move is almost complete, bringing news and reviews on demand and online.
Throughout the 1900s, entertainment news was largely the domain of print publications. Magazines and newspapers have been featuring the latest and greatest from the industry since before the First World War. However, it was the 50s and 60s that saw them come into their own, probably spurred on by the materialisation of in-home entertainment with the growth of television availability and the rock and roll explosion.
Magazines like NME and Melody Maker had phenomenal readership figures in their early years and newspapers like

The Internet is now a source of everything from pure entertainment to up to the minute news for the private citizen, but it hasn’t always been that way. In fact, in the early days of the Internet (before it even carried that name), it was strictly limited in its use and no one would have dared suggest it be used for any frivolous. The Internet was originally conceived of in the early 1960’s as a way to enable multiple computers to access information for research and development purposes in the scientific and military communities.
By 1970, several major universities had super computers sharing information between research groups and libraries as well as exchanging an early form of email. The increase in information necessitated a way of indexing and organizing the information that eventually led to simpler codes, hypertext and ease of use in the 1980’s. Initially, the government funded the development of the Internet, so commercial use was prohibited unless it was directly linked to research or education.
Everything changed in the late 1980’s and early 1990s, when independent commercial networks sprang up in response to the ease of use
In the aftermath of the collapse of the Spanish, Portuguese, Roman, Chinese and Mughal empires, the 19th Century was typified by the growth in the influence of Britain and the United States on the world stage. Not least of all was their influence on entertainment.
Perhaps the biggest, and longest lasting influence is the massive impact of British writers on the literature world. The 19th Century was a hot bed for classics. Charles Dickens lived and worked throughout the middle period of the 19th Century on classic fiction like Oliver Twist (1937-1939), A Tale of Two Cities (1851) and Great Expectations (1861).
It wasn’t just Dickens that was active during the century; Arthur Conan Doyle wrote about Sherlock Holmes for the first time, the Bronte’s brought us Jayne Eyre, Agnes Grey and Wuthering Heights and Rudyard Kipling gave us Young Mowgli. There were also sinister twists in Mary Shelly’s Frankenstein (1818), Oscar Wilde’s The Picture of Dorian Grey (1891) and Robert Louis Stevenson’s Strange Case of Doctor Jekyll and Mr Hyde (1886).
In music, it was the European composers that let the way in the wake of

Do you run an entertainment news website or blog that’s receiving diminished levels of traffic lately? First of all, it’s a jungle out there, and many get gobbled up. Or die of hunger. It takes a special animal to survive and prosper online.
But since that’s pretty much true across the board, why are we picking on the entertainment websites?
Maxim, a leading men’s mag, decided to switch content strategies and instead of focusing on T&A focus more on fashion. This new content strategy generated 50% more page views and $10 million more in annual ad revenue.
Is Maxim gliding upwards on the winds of change or is it just a fad? We think the former. One of the most important aspects to consider with entertainment news is being there first, so if you want to be one of those who adopted this change of direction early, here’s how:
Content Strategy vs. Content Marketing
Many publishers mistakenly think a content strategy means content marketing. It isn’t, but it’s very easy to get confused.
Content marketing is a popular method for advertisers to strengthen their brand and improve SEO, among others.
Back in the heady days of the 90s, Mario and Sonic were poles apart. They were at the centre of a digitally vicious rivalry that ranked up there with Blur and Oasis. However, as time has passed old wounds have healed and a new era in the history of Mario the plumbing mushroom slayer and Sonic the Hedgehog. Not only have Nintendo and Sega forgiven and forgotten, but then are now partners in some of the best in computer games entertainment to hit the shelves.
Believe it or not, but Nintendo has been around since 1889, when it manufactured “Hanafuda” (flower) Japanese playing cards in Kyoto. It wasn’t until the 1970s that they started to get technical, but by the 1980s they become a superpower in computer games entertainment thanks to the huge success of Arcade Game and Game & Watch product line, Donkey Kong, created by the legendary Shigeru Miyamoto. The protagonist in the game was one carpenter by the name of Jumpman and his challenge was to rescue his girlfriend Pauline from the grizzly gorilla. As we all know, that carpenter would later be renamed Mario and a whole beautiful saga

Boys Come… Boy’s Co.
“John Lennon & Yoko Ono Bed-In for Peace”
Ask any girl. Those rules were bent Friday night when I happened upon old flame David Goldman still going strong at his Boy’s Co exclusive opening of “All We Are Saying” – a fashionable evening featuring the original photographs of “John Lennon & Yoko Ono’s Bed-In for Peace” by the late photojournalist Gerry Deiter.
These extraordinary photographs, providing the backdrop for the theme of the evening, were on display through the sagacity of the Elliott Louis Gallery’s owner Ted Lederer – who single-handedly dragged them out of Deiter’s vault for a first-time showing on May 26, 2004 – thirty-five years after John Lennon and Yoko Ono went to bed in a suite in Montreal’s Queen Elizabeth Hotel, and invited the entire world to join them in seeking an alternative to violence and war in solving global political and social problems.
May 26, 1969. That month the battle of Dong Ap Bia, a.k.a. Hamburger Hill was exploding in the Vietnam War. Race riots occurred in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. French Foreign Legion paratroopers landed
Do you remember being a kid and just hating it when it was time for the news to come on television? There went the cartoons and other shows that were fun for kids.. Of course when many of us were young we could not get but three or four different channels at the most from our old home antennas. There was no such thing as two hundred different options like we have today with satellite or cable service.
The most unappealing thing about having to watch the news programs back then was the fact that they were so boring. It just did not hold much interest for your average fun loving kid. Walter Cronkite was great at what he did, but only if you were old like our parents.
It is true that our news programs today are much more entertaining than in days gone by, but they still probably do not interest for many kids. They are, however, much more interesting for us that have grown up since then and have developed a need to watch the news. It is easy today to actually find yourself enjoying these programs.
Let’s face it: the actual news can get downright depressing, even when there isn’t some sort of economic or political crisis going on. And with more and more channels of cable news on television, a single news story can get chewed up and fed to viewers hour after hour without any sort of interesting or insightful commentary. In fact, it seems as though for actual reliable news on television these days, you are more likely to find a daily digest in the most unlikely of places: on the various news shows that are supposed to be satire or comedy, but that actually manage to wrap up the day’s events and present them in a way that is also informative.
For those who are interested in a more hilarious look at their daily news on satellite tv, there are now more options than ever before, thanks to the growing popularity of these types of programs and the fact that high ratings for classics like “The Daily Show” leading to more and more networks desperately wanting their own piece of the pie. As far as classic programming goes, nothing comes close to “The Daily Show,”
Stars get mad at the paparazzi for taking pictures of them all the time, but why did they become stars if they didn’t want the attention? There is nothing more entertaining than entertainment news…unless of course it’s entertainment news online!
If you have the guilty pleasure of following the lives of beautiful and hunky stars, you are not alone! Most people love watching entertainment news and wonder where we can get more of it when we want it, no matter where we are. Entertainment news online is the best way to stay connected to the day by day lives to stars. Not only will you get the good stuff, but you can get the dirty stuff and the bad stuff and the mug-shots you want to see. It’s so much fun and there’s a never-ending supply of dirt on these people. You can keep track of who’s gaining weight, who’s losing weight and how they are doing it, up to date divorce reports and new marriages. You can see who made out with a random guy this weekend at the clubs and who got so drunk they had to be carried out of
This is one equation that has always baffled the race that took domination after the dinosaurs died. When you flip through entertainment news channels, you come across many couples who have a good number of years between their birth years. A couple of famous examples would be Katie Holmes-Tom Cruise and Demi Moore-Ashton Kutcher. These couples are known in the celebrity gossip circles. They are also known as couples who have a yawning age gap. There is no strain on their relationship because of the age gap, but readers of celeb gossip columns sometimes wonder aloud why a man falls for a woman much younger in age and vice versa. The answer, though not definite, is out there somewhere. Let’s look at some possibilities.
A younger person is generally happier. This appeals to the older partner. Entertainment news columns are awash with such stories. A younger person feels excited about life, sees the positive aspect of things and is more forthcoming about hope in the future. The older generation, which tends to be cynical about things, takes a liking to this attitude. They feel drawn more by the vitality and life force in
Have you noticed the most recent news today? Have you noticed how much of the important news and issues facing society today are pushed more and more onto the “back burner?” This is because more and more the media is focused on the entertainment industries, rather than “real news.” That’s both the blessing and the curse for entertainment news today, it becomes good for the entertainment industry and bad for the REAL news industry.
What the major problem with focusing on nothing but entertainment-related “news” is, is the fact that our society is not keeping itself informed about the major issues and current events in our society when they are constantly bombarded with nothing but entertainment industry “news.” The complacency with which most have ALLOWED this to occur is the saddest part of this, because the average person no longer cares about major issues or world events.
And what’s even worse is that what television, magazines and internet sources are calling entertainment news today is no longer even “real” news, but merely like a constantly running gossip column. When the highlight of a news piece is what someone bought at
Old as they may be, the magazines and periodicals you browse through in your dentist’s waiting room or at the hair dresser are endlessly fascinating, especially the celebrity photos, news articles and entertainment issues. If you love following the stars, political giants, and the lives of the rich and famous, then getting the latest celebrity news is also as easy now as going on line. No subscriptions are even necessary.
Numerous internet, entertainment, and celebrity gossip websites feature astoundingly interesting photographs of your favorite people. News stories revealing their lives, loves and illicit behaviors make each famous character come to life and sometimes the pictures really do speak louder than words. Each publication has its specialties and its own editorial personality. And all the fun stuff is reflected in imagery, story presentation and the interactive nature of the website with viewers, users, and advertisers.
But it’s the photographs of the famous and the infamous in candid, unguarded moments that are the secrets to holding our rapt attention. Online entertainment news agencies have brought the evil paparazzi back into the limelight – surrounded by myth and perhaps unduly maligned.
Colin Drummond, the former Producer of TMZ Celebrity News is a leader in the entertainment industry with extensive experience in film production, prominent business connections and a penchant and knack for capturing the everyday actions of fascinating people in the public eye. Drummond is now CEO and founder of a recently launched entertainment news agency dedicated to distributing photographs, video and humanistic news stories about politicians, and celebrities in the Washington, DC arena and worldwide.
Who makes the headlines and how does an entertainment news agency provide up-to-the-minute exclusive video and photos of headlining politicians, celebrities and public officials? Dorothy Dutch asked probing questions of Colin Drummond to get to the heart of the paparazzi phenomena. For those of us who unabashedly enjoy flipping through celebrity photo stories on line or off, it can be even more satisfying if we understand the world of the candid camera.
This interview session is aimed at the journalists who give us our daily doses of unethical behavior, celebrity photos, gossip, news articles, and entertainment news even before prime time entertainment shows enter our living rooms. Drummond’s answers offer a surprising eye view of
